PR Works Corporate Communications’ principal consultant Sushma Sivasriamphai has implemented strategic business-to-business, and consumer marketing campaigns incorporating multi-dimensional components including market research, media relations, event management, forums and exhibitions, as well as collateral development and production. 

She began her career at Burson-Marsteller, Singapore where she worked with Andersen Consulting, AT&T, Ban Hin Leong Springleaf Home, Credit Suisse, DuPont, and Norsk Hydro.

She then moved to gain experience in marketing communications at modernAge Design & Communication where her clients included the Singapore Tourism Board, leading Singapore mobile phone provider, M1, and upscale shopping mall Millenia Walk.

Seeking to broaden her horizons to include corporate work she then moved to Gajardo Oon & Partners where she was responsible for a mixed portfolio of corporate and marketing communications clients including the Chile Information Bureau, IIR Exhibitions and Stars Restaurant.

Following the break-up of the company and her subsequent retrenchment, she joined Dunbar·Jones & Associates, where her client list included  the Australian Horticultural Corporation, BBC World, California Pizza Kitchen, Deloitte Consulting, Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects, IKEA, Little Green Apples, Nippon Paint, Procter & Gamble (Whisper, Cover Girl, Pantene, SK-II, Pampers) and Sol Melia Hotels & Resorts.

She established PR Works Corporate Communications in 2003 and is responsible for strategic counselling and overall account servicing management.

Aloysius Yap
Senior Strategic Consultant

PR Works Corporate Communications’ Senior Strategic Consultant Aloysius Yap is a 14 year public relations practitioner.  He brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of corporate reputation management, issues and public affairs counsel, business-to-business marketing communications, crisis communications, and is a qualified media trainer.

Aloysius has held positions with industry associations including the Public Relations Consultants Association of Malaysia, member of the Institute of Public Relations of Malaysia (IPRM) and corporate member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

He has also delivered papers at various seminars on topics as diverse as – enhancing good corporate governance through consistent communications; the impact of a strong reputation during an IPO; mergers and acquisitions communications; brand marketing communications; crisis communications preparedness; and sustainable corporate social responsibility initiatives.

From 1997 to February 2004, Aloysius was employed by the Malaysian office of U.S-based Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations firm.  He joined the firm as an Account Director for its Corporate and Financial Practice.  In 2000, he was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager.  2002 saw Aloysius being appointed Managing Director of Edelman Malaysia.  During this seven year tenure, Aloysius helped develop consistent business success for the firm.  As Account Director, he had grown the firm’s revenues for its Corporate and Financial Practice, making it the firm’s largest fee income practice.  As Deputy General Manager, Aloysius helped provide guidance and direction for the firm’s operations and business development initiatives.  As Managing Director, Aloysius was credited with growing the business and successfully retaining long-standing clients. 

Working with his team, Aloysius also helped position Edelman Malaysia as one of the leading public relations firms in the country.  During this time, he provided senior communications counsel to various client organizations including EON Bank Berhad (pre-merger through to post-merger), British American Tobacco Malaysia Berhad (pre-merger through to post-merger, issues and public affairs counsel), PLUS Berhad (1999 toll increase), Khind Holdings Berhad (IPO and Corporate Reputation Management), GHL Systems Berhad (IPO), Seal Polymer Industries Berhad (IPO), Hua Yang Berhad (IPO), AstraZeneca (Issues counsel and Media training), GlaxoSmithKline Beecham (Crisis Communications counsel), Mead Johnson (Crisis Communications counsel), Nu Skin Malaysia (Corporate Reputation Management), Maybank Berhad (Corporate Reputation Management)

Prior to Edelman, Aloysius was employed with ASPAC Executive Search and Selection, a leading recruitment firm.  He was responsible for the fulfillment of senior to mid-level positions in the property development and construction sectors.  During his two year tenure with the firm, Aloysius successfully developed the firm’s Infrastructure Practice (search and selection for positions in the areas of property development, construction and engineering).  He was also an internal Audit Committee Member for the firm’s ISO 9002 certification process.

Aloysius received his early public relations skills development with Burson-Marsteller, a global leader in public relations.  He spent five years with the firm during which he had the opportunity to hone his skills in the areas of corporate communications, public affairs, crisis communications, financial marketing communications and media training.  He also had a brief stint with Berjaya Group Berhad in its group corporate communications unit.

Aloysius holds a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Business Communications from the University of Southern New Hampshire, USA.
